We used copayment status as a proxy measure for annual income. Most patients reported either reduced copay because of low income or disability. And it’s worth noting that for Veterans who don’t have to pay a copay because of a disability, they may not undergo the robust income screening. So this really an imperfect proxy measure for income. ................
