VXUS Fund Description

VXUS tracks a market-cap-weighted index of global stocks covering 99% of the world's global market capitalization outside the US.

VXUS Factset Analytics Insight

VXUS offers a broad, inclusive portfolio of ex-US global stocks at low all-in costs. Unlike many peer ETFs (including sister fund VEU), VXUS covers small-caps in marketlike proportion, which is to say, a relatively small part of the portfolio. The resulting portfolio holds a huge number of stocks, which makes the low holding cost and solid liquidity that much more impressive: There's a lot of bang for the buck here. The fund changed indexes in 2010 and 2013, and continues to be an excellent choice for complete exposure to broad-based international stocks. Note: The issuer uses fair value NAVs, which minimize apparent premiums and discounts at the expense of tracking variability. Also, Vanguard discloses holdings monthly with a lag, rather than daily.

VXUS MSCI ESG Analytics Insight

Vanguard Total International Stock ETF has an MSCI ESG Fund Rating of A based on a score of 5.81 out of 10. The MSCI ESG Fund Rating measures the resiliency of portfolios to long-term risks and opportunities arising from environmental, social, and governance factors. ESG Fund Ratings range from best (AAA) to worst (CCC). Highly rated funds consist of companies that tend to show strong and/or improving management of financially relevant environmental, social and governance issues. These companies may be more resilient to disruptions arising from ESG events.

The fund's Peer Rank reflects the ranking of a fund's MSCI ESG Fund Quality Score against the scores of other funds within the same peer group, as defined by the Thomson Reuters Lipper Global Classification. Vanguard Total International Stock ETF ranks in the 62nd percentile within its peer group and in the 14th percentile within the global universe of all funds covered by MSCI ESG Fund Ratings.
