MAINTENANCE (ELECTRICAL/MECHANICAL) 1st SHIFT

Energy Manufacturing has an opening for a skilled Maintenance Person on 1st shift (7am-3pm). The position requires 2 years of general maintenance experience. Prefer technically related associates degree with strong electrical expertise. Responsibilities will include:

• Performing general and preventive maintenance work with a wide variety of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding, fabricating and pipe fitting work.

• Using strong electrical and mechanical skills to install and repair production equipment. This includes ability to troubleshoot wiring, machines and control equipment with 110 and work with up to 480 VAC 3 phase.

• Using hand and power tools to perform machining, carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and building maintenance.

• Troubleshoots and repairs CNC and PLC equipped machines and replaces, rebuilds or overhauls worn or broken parts.

• Must be able to work weekends and handle physically demanding work including ability to lift 50 pounds over an 8 hour shift.

• Read, write and communicate in the English language.

Starting wage is $17.61 includes a two year wage progression achieving $24.16 in just over 2 years. Testing to certify electrical and mechanical skill level is required. Job Description

Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Department: Maintenance

Reports To: 1st Shift Production Supervisor

Approved By: Vice-President Operations

POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs a wide variety of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding and fabricating work for such activities as installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of equipment used for production processes and as need for building maintenance needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position:

1. Performs all maintenance requirements including troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding, fabrication, pipe fitting and machining needs within the facility for production, equipment and physical plant needs.

2. Installs, removes and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, machines and control equipment.

3. Uses hand and power tools to perform basic machining, carpentry, electrical, mechanical, air-conditioning, heating and plumbing repairs.

4. Troubleshoots and repairs Computer Numeric Controller (CNC) and Programmable Logic (PLC) equipped machines.

5. Replaces, rebuilds and/or overhauls worn out or broken parts or machinery as required.

6. Helps to ensure a strong Company commitment to safety, environmental, and employee health as well as personal and plant-wide adherence to all safety rules and the personal protective policy and personal protective equipment use.

7. Performs other duties as directed.

EDUCATION:

High School diploma or equivalent required. AA or other technical related degree or a proven track record preferred.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Position requires 2 years experience in a mechanic/technician setting, with trouble shooting and repairing NC and CNC equipment, machining, screw machines, lathes, grinders, cutoff, welders, turret and other machine tools that keep production manufacturing equipment in repair and meet the needs of our preventive maintenance program. Prefer experience with CNC/NC programming and knowledge of machinery, set-up and tooling application. Requires experience and ability to interpret blueprints, maintenance manuals, schematics and line diagrams. Electrical experience required with wiring machines and troubleshooting with 110 and up to 480 VAC 3 phase.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Read, write and communicate in the English Language.

2. Required ability perform shop math and to understand technical documents such as reading and understanding of electrical and hydraulic schematics, manufacturing and building blue prints, and machine operating instructions.

3. Has working knowledge of CNC M-codes and G-codes as well as plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems, mechanical and construction equipment.

4. Must be able to properly and efficiently use measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, snap gauges, thread gauges, etc.

5. Able to do minor metal fabrication and welding.

6. Must be self motivated and able to work independently without direct supervision.

7. Physically able to withstand extended physically demanding work that can include occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds over an 8 hour period and must be able to stand or walk on his/her feet for long periods of time.

8. Able to work weekends as required and has own tools.

9. Able to work in high places using a manlift or ladder.

10. Ability to bend, twist, climb, and lift above the shoulders frequently.

11. Must have the ability to learn to drive a forklift safely.
