*First Grade Online Science Resources for Living Things* Akron Zoo: Where to find it: Akron Zoo Facebook Page Activities: This page will have “Lunch and Learn” streams daily at noon. Students will learn about an animal being housed at the zoo. They also provide you with questions or an activity to complete after. This has been going on since last week so feel free to pick any video you are most interested in to complete! Cleveland Metroparks and Cleveland Metroparks Zoo Virtual Classrooms: Where to find it: Cleveland Metroparks Zoo Facebook Page Activities: This page will have a “Facebook Live” each weekday at 11AM and 1PM with biologists and naturalists. They will take you behind the scenes of the zoo to discover what their daily jobs entail. You will learn the science behind their jobs and see some interesting animals along the way! This has also been going on since last week so feel free to pick any video you are most interested in to watch.San Diego Kids:Where to find it: On their website - : Mrs. Drongowski found this website for us! Colton has been going on virtual field trips around the zoo. You can click on the different videos to explore different areas and animals! This site also offers some fun activities to do at home. Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden:Where to find it: Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden Facebook page Activities: This page will have a “Home Safari Facebook Live” each weekday at 3PM. They will highlight one of their amazing animals. It also includes an activity for you to do at home! This is another resource that has been going on since last week so feel free to pick any video you are most interested in to watch. 5) Boonshoft Museum of Discovery:*This resource is great for social students units and science units **I LOVE this museum! I used to go here when I lived in Dayton, Ohio. Where to find it: Boonshoft Museum of Discovery Facebook page or (If you go to the website click on Digital Programming bottom of homepage on the left side) Activities: Morning program?- (10am) a Science Education program on a variety of topics in physics, chemistry and biology featuring our Science Theater and Do Lab. These programs will be followed by an activity or experiment that can be done at home to build upon the topic.Afternoon program?- (2pm) a virtual museum experience will highlight a behind the scene location, an animal ambassador from the zoo, or special rarely seen item from our collection vault.Closing program?- (6pm) an astronomy experience, from current topics, to notable items in the night sky.
