Assists with developing in-house design of the organization’s collateral, print advertisements, graphics, guides and publications, PowerPoint presentations and other publicized materials. Essential Functions and Basic DutiesDesigns layout and graphics of printed promotional materials, utilizing desktop publishing software; Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Programs, i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word. Responsible for assisting in creating organizational PowerPoints and relevant presentations. Makes weekly trips to the Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport and various hotels and attractions to deliver visitor guides and maps. Performs other duties as assigned.Attend a weekly meeting with the Marketing and Communications Team.Assist with press conferences and ensuring the set-up is complete.Assist with answering and directing the organizations phone calls by working at the front desk when needed. QualificationsEducation/Certification:Anticipating a Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, advertising, marketing, communications or similar fieldExperience Required:Must have taken classes with a focus in graphic design and production focusing on design elements, composition, layout, typography and production applied to visual communications.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Self starter and ability to work unsupervised when supervisor is out of the officeKnowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and PhotoshopSense of urgency and calm performance under deadline pressureMulti-tasking and ability to shift tasks as priorities changeClose attention to detail and proofreadingDesktop publishing experience a mustGood communication and organization skillsFamiliarity with the local areaTeamwork and positive office partnership skillsIntent and Function of Job DescriptionsJob descriptions assist organizations in ensuring that the hiring process is fairly administered and that qualified employees are selected.
