These four work tasks are like the compass points on a map. Each of the six Career Clusters relate to the basic work tasks in specific ways. For example, the Arts cluster is related to Ideas and People. This makes it possible to express career cluster results as directions on the World-of-Work Map. The rules for converting cluster scores to Map directions uses the three highest cluster scores. These rules can be thought of as a series of pulls. The highest score has the strongest pull, the second-highest score has a weaker pull, and the third-highest score has the weakest pull. The combined three pulls result in a suggested direction on the Map. For example, consider highest scores A, E, and I. The primary work tasks underlying these scores are Ideas (from A and I) and People (from A and E). The primary pulls are down (Ideas) and to the left (People) on the Map. Thus the suggested Career Areas are R through Y.
