Respite Options:We would like to have a listing of options for respite to share with those caregivers interested. All options, private pay, insurance, relief less formal. It was thought there was a list that was created when Pat was with the ADRC. ADRC has information the INA workers share. Place on old business to discuss in 2015, for 30 minutes to review and discuss. New BusinessCaregiver Conference 2014 Review (Event Committee Report):We reviewed the November 7, 2014 Caregiver Coalition Caregiver Event. Tammy complied the surveys completed from the event and placed them in a survey summary for the group to review:46 Attendee’s30 VendorsWe will include the complete survey summary at the end of the November 2014 minutes for those not in attendance to review. Committee discussed what went well, and what we could improve on:What went well?Length of speakers, just right. Balance between education and funny. Professional versus family caregivers.Nice intimate space, food was good. What would we like to improve for next year?Dementia versus other physical disabilities, we were heavy on dementia this conference. Card for attendee’s to take to each vendor table to be sure they attend each table to win a door prize. Card to share e-mails and addresses. Have vendors sit at the round tables. Discussion for potential speakers for the 2015 conference:Jeanine Knapp with Lutheran Social Services offers a “Caregiver Café” event with tables, facilitators, and attendee’s rotate between tables, questions, and discussions. It has had great success and would be a good option and something different than the usual speaker. Harriet Redman with the Wisconsibs – Sisters & Brothers of People with Disabilities. Kids – Being in caregiving situations getting them involved in youth groups. Role playing scenario: Short skits packed with powerful messages. Grief & Caregiving: After you are done caring. Possibly a few breakout sessions. It was also noted it would be nice if we have the list of respite services available in Waupaca County for the 2015 conference. Tammy will wrap up the expenses and submit the report to the Helen Bader Foundation so we are able to capture the $2,500 requested for the 2015 Caregiver Event. Marketing Subcommittee Report:Discussed event marketing, and the creation of a brochure to share with the community of what we do and are about. Sarah passed out a possible logo that we could use to brand our coalition. The logo was passed around to those in attendance to review. The committees liked the idea of a logo and brochure. We need to get back to basics and have a firm foundation. Share the Care:We will discuss Share the Care for Waupaca County and add it to the strategic planning meeting in December 2014. ADRC Update: Reminder of Open Enrollment ending December 7th. The 2015 Resource Directories are available at the ADRC. The Buyers Guide will distribute and deliver. Family Care will be adding Lakeland Care District as an option to Waupaca County residents. The state feels it is good to have choice between Lakeland Care District and Community Care. They do not have an office in Waupaca, but are located in Oshkosh and Fond du Lac. 2015 Food and Location Host Calendar:The updated food and location host calendar for 2015 was passed out to the group. At our December meeting, we will review topics of interest and then work on speakers for the 2015 meetings.
