The supplies needed for Elective Classes will be very similar to, if not the same, as the supplies listed above for core classes. Any additional supplies needed for an elective class will be shared by your child's elective teacher at the start of the school year.

As an AVID campus, the use of a 3-inch binder is a strategy that SLMS is using to help our students stay organized and bring AVID campus wide.

New for 2017-18: Tissues and Hand Sanitizer were not listed above, but they are still needed. The PTO will have collection/drop-off locations for these items at the August orientation sessions & the first day of school, as the collected items will be distributed among the classroom teachers when school starts.

*** Items removed from the list in previous years include glue sticks, scissors, pencil sharpener, ruler, markers, flash drive, and folder pockets. Our teachers keep a supply of these items in their classroom for your child on a daily basis. Therefore, in an effort to conserve the cost spent on school supplies, Sugar Land Middle School has opted to not require these items be purchased.

The supplies needed for Elective Classes will be very similar to, if not the same, as the supplies listed above for core classes. Any additional supplies needed for an elective class will be shared by your child's elective teacher at the start of the school year.

New for 2017-18: 2 Boxes of Tissues, Hand Sanitizer, Scotch Tape, Glue Sticks, Colored Pencils (one package), and Expo Markers were not listed above, but they are still needed. The PTO will have collection/drop-off locations for these items at the August orientation sessions & the first day of school, as the collected items will be distributed among the classroom teachers when school starts.

The use of a 3-inch binder is necessary for all 7th grade students. The core classes above have all agreed that a 3inch binder with pocket dividers and a pencil pouch is the best option to help our 7th grade students stay organized with their course work.

Recommended Items to Remain in the Pencil Pouch at all times: Earbuds, highlighter, pencils, pencil sharpener, and a red pen.

*In an effort to conserve the cost spent on school supplies, Sugar Land Middle School has opted to not require the purchase of a flash drive, post-it notes, pocket folders, or pens for 7th grade students.
