Make sure to pay attention to this part because oil changes are what you will be doing most. The following steps are listed in order to make your job easier and provide a guideline of how to perform the services. Remember XE "Remember" to always wear safety goggles when working on a car in the shop Courtesy and Pre service workCheck to see if all lights work. -If not, put recommend replace into computer system2. Wash windshield3. Check windshield wipers to see if they need to be replaced-If they do, put new ones on or write recommend replace in the computer system depending on the customer XE "customer" ’s preference4. Check air filter to see if it needs to be replaced-If it does, put a new one in or write recommend replace in the computer system depending on the customer XE "customer" ’s preference5. Vacuum car6. Check car’s pre-service oil level (ex. full, ? quart low, off stick)7. Put recommended air into each tire8. When done with all of this go to computer system and sign off on everythingFinding which products to useFind the car in our Oil XE "Oil" and Oil filter bookWrite down which oil filter the car takes (ex. COR2TLE)Write down which oil weight the book recommends (ex. 5W30)Write down the amount of oil the car takes (ex. 4.5 quarts)Look up the car in our torque bookWrite down what the torque of the oil pan bolt isPut all this information into the computer systemUpper Bay Pull car forward to oil change stationOpen hoodCheck fluids (Power steering, Transmission, and Washer fluid)If any fluids are not full, fill themCheck to see if battery XE "battery" is goodGet oil ready to fill whenever lower bay has finished and you are clear to addWhen lower bay is done, put the oil into the enginePut cap back on the engine and check all other caps to make sure they’re tight alsoLower BayPut on hard hatWalk down stairs into oil draining stationFind correct oil filter Set torque wrench to correct torque numberUse downstairs tools to unscrew the oil pan cap on the bottom of the engineUnscrew the old oil filterLet ALL the old oil drain outScrew the new oil filter in and tighten only with your hand, do NOT over tighten with a toolScrew in the oil pan cap with hand10. Grab torque wrench and twist on the cap until you hear the wrench make a clicking sound which means its tight. (Do NOT over tighten!)11. Let Upper Bay know you are finished and they can fill the car with oil12.
