Collection of curated adventures offers exclusive access to iconic Southern California experiences

Just in time for summer travels, The Peninsula Beverly Hills has enhanced its iconic experiential program, The Peninsula Academy, with new activities designed to delight and educate guests of all ages. Three new experiences have been added to the collection for adults and children staying at The Peninsula Beverly Hills, offering an exclusive tour and lesson with artist Alexandre Renoir, great-grandson of the famous French Impressionist Pierre-Auguste Renoir; a crystal-encrusted carriage ride through Beverly Hills with stops, to transform a little one into a princess for a day; and a fishing trip with the hotel’s Executive Chef, followed by a private dining experience featuring the catch of the day.

Details on the 2014 Peninsula Beverly Hills Academy Collection:

The transformation into a Beverly Hills Princess for a Day begins with “magical” transportation in a bejeweled carriage for a little one and her parents. They’ll visit a variety of princess-worthy destinations including a children’s boutique for a gown and tiara, and Beverly Hills’ finest toy store for a shopping spree, before returning to the hotel for Afternoon Tea.

The An Afternoon with Renoir in Beverly Hills Academy offers a gracious experience immersed in art with tours of Beverly Hills’ top galleries and a private art lesson with Alexandre Renoir, the great-grandson of famous French Impressionist artist Pierre-Auguste Renior. The program concludes with relaxed conversation with Mr. Renoir over Afternoon Tea at The Peninsula Beverly Hills.

Culinarians enjoy a sea-to-table adventure with the Gone Fishing with Chef Academy that begins with a half-day fishing trip with Executive Chef David Codney aboard a chartered boat. Later in the evening, guests will enjoy a four-course dinner, featuring the day’s catch, prepared by Chef Codney in The Belvedere.

Behind the Scenes at a Hollywood Studio is a private tour behind the scenes on the Warner Bros. studio lot followed by a stop in the Warner Bros. store with a $100 gift card and a gourmet picnic served by a Peninsula page at Los Angeles’ famous Griffith Park.

The Fly Away to Malibu Wine Country Academy offers a bird’s-eye view of Los Angeles with a helicopter tour to Southern California wine country for a private wine tasting, a picnic lunch under the oaks served by a Peninsula page and a brief encounter with the wine estate’s horses, buffalo and zebras.

From Movie Palaces to Disney Hall is an up-close-and-personal tour of the most iconic buildings in Los Angeles with an expert architectural historian and a gourmet Peninsula-prepared picnic lunch in downtown’s new Grand Park. Guests will receive a copy of an architectural guidebook as a memento of the experience.

Music aficionados are in for a treat with the Hollywood Piano Legend Academy, which offers a private piano lesson and lunch with The Peninsula Beverly Hills’ resident pianist, who has entertained Hollywood royalty for more than 30 years.

Young guests are invited into The Peninsula Beverly Hills’ pastry kitchen with Kids, Cookies and Cupcakes to create, bake and decorate cookies and cupcakes with the Executive Pastry Chef. The Children take home their own mini Peninsula chef’s hat and jacket as a souvenir, in addition to a photo album – a keepsake to remind them of their fun culinary adventure.

Guests enjoy an “only in Hollywood” experience with Red Carpet Glamour. A professional stylist does their hair and makeup; they step into a (pre-selected) designer gown or tuxedo. Then, adorned with jewelry and cufflinks from Mikimoto, they are photographed on the red carpet by a celebrity photographer.

The Seven-Wheel Family Adventure is a unique motorcycle-drawn carriage ride and scavenger hunt for the family in Beverly Hills. Children are armed with cameras for photo-ops at the city’s most iconic sites, followed by a picnic lunch served by a Peninsula page, a stop in Beverly Hills’ best toy store and a visit to a unique ice cream shop.
