SUMMER BASEBALL

T-Ball: T-ball is for kids ages 5-6 years old. They will work on the basics of baseball including catching, throwing, batting, running bases, and other basic rules. This is designed to create parent /child interaction along with learning how to be a team player. T-ball will be held in both Eden Valley and Watkins if there are enough parent volunteer coaches to help out. Practices will take place in June on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 -7:30 p.m. Tshirts will be handed out during practice. This season will run June 4 - June 27.

Fee: $15.00 by 5/1 $20 after 5/1 PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Volunteer and receive FREE registration!

Pee Wee Baseball: This is for kids ages 7-8 years old. They will work on enhancing the basic skills including catching, throwing, batting, running bases, and team building. This activitiy encourages parent participation so that the coach can run stations of skill building. We will have two teams if numbers allow. Practices will be Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Locations: Eden Valley Elementary (field 2) and Watkins Elementary grass area. (If there are only enough for one team, we will choose a location that best suits the schedule.) This season will run June 4 - July 18 (No ball JULY 2th AND 4th) Fee: $25 by 5/1 $30 after 5/1 PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Volunteer and receive FREE registration!

(Traditional) Minor League: This is for kids who are 9-10 years old. Teams will work on skill building exercises such as batting, throwing, pitching, catching, and team building. Coaches will keep families updated on schedules for practices and games as the season begins. Practices will be on Monday and Wednesday evenings and games will begin in June on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Locations of the games will be announced when the schedule is released by the league. T-shirts will be handed out prior to the first game. Please register by April 20th!! Fee: $40 (Please contact Dan Berg - 320-453-2900 x2150 with questions regarding deadlines.)

(Traditional) Major League: This is for kids who are 11-13 years old. Teams will be split into two sections depending on numbers. Teams will work on skill and team building exercises during practices. Coaches will adjust practice schedules accordingly and will keep all registered families informed. Games will be Monday and Wednesday evenings. Locations of the games will be announced when the schedule is released by the league. T-shirts will be handed out prior to the first game. Gopher Traveling Baseball League: These teams have already been selected based on tryouts in March. If you have any questions, please contact Dan Berg, Baseball Coordinator: dberg@evw.k12.mn.us or call 320-453-2900 x 1123.

Babe Ruth Babe Baseball: This is for guys ages 13-15 years old. Sign up BEFORE the deadline and talk to Mr. Berg if you have any questions. Follow coach schedule. (TBA) $100 per participant.

Rox Baseball Clinic

This two hour clinic is open to all boys and girls ages 7-14 years old. The clinic provides instruction from your favorite Rox players and coaches. Along with learning the fundamentals of baseball each participant will receive a free ticket to a 2019 Rox game, extensive baseball instruction, a unique Rox poster for autographs following the clinic, and most of

all, ROX SOLID FUN! Rox players and coaches will provide one-on-one baseball instruction. Participants will gain experiences and knowledge from some of tomorrow's baseball stars. Rox players are dedicated to providing fundamental baseball skills

to children in the area. Learn how to play the game the right way! When: Saturday, July 20th Time: 10 a.m. - noon Where: Field #4 by the Maint. Shed in Eden Valley

SUMMER SOFTBALL

10U SOFTBALL: Participants will work on skill building activites to enhance throwing, catching, and team building skills. League games will be on Monday and Wednesday evenings starting in June. Practices will be on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.(subject to change to one evening as the season progresses). Please register asap! T-shirts will be handed out in the first week of practice. Fee: $40 per registrant (There will be 1-2 teams depending on how many sign up by the deadline of April 15th.)

12U SOFTBALL: Participants will compete in games on Monday and Wednesday evenings beginning in June. Practices will be scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. by the EV Elementary on field #2. *Subjct to change: As the season progresses, please follow coach schedules for practices. Fee: $50 per participant DEADLINE: April 15th

14U SOFTBALL: 14U softball participants will compete in games each Monday and Wednesday evening beginning in June. Practices will be scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 - 6:30 pm by the EV Elementary (Field #1). Practice days/times/locations are subject to change as per field availability and coach schedule. Registrations are due by April 15th. Fee: $60

16/18U SOFTBALL: The girls continue to work on skills that coincide with the high school softball leagues. Coaches will work with them to enhance throwing accuracy, catching skills, and team building. Games will be on Tuesday's starting in June, practices will be according to the coach schedule (TBA). Fee: $75 per participant payable by April 15th.

Join the fun of Track and Field! Summer practice dates are located at the Kimball High School Track from 6:30 - 8 pm on June 4th, 5th, and 10th. Participants will get to try their hand at many events! Track Meets are scheduled as followed: June 11th @ Paynesville High School June 13th @ Kimball High School and June 18th @ ACGC High School. When should we be cutting back, fertilizing, weeding, or just waiting for warmer weather? In order for our natives to look their best they require some spring care. Let's tackle some tips and techniques to make the best out of the early season. Participants will receive an informational folder full of great publications, and several door prizes will be given away from local plant specialists. Do they see every color, certain colors, or none at all? We will be talking about and looking at a wide variety of gadgets and lures, as well as giving you a chance to make your own to take home and try out. All the supplies and materials are provided, just bring your creativity. Planting a Pollinator Garden ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A native wildflower garden will attract beautiful butterflies and bees to your yard and help pollinators stay healthy. You can plant a garden anywhere from the tiniest corner of your city lot to an open prairie setting and about anything in between. We will cover it all from weeds to seeds, and how start to bountiful blooms. You will receive an informational folder full of great publications and several door prizes will be given away from local plant specialists. DayTrippers Dinner Theater! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We will be going to see "Spirit Level" which is a comedy about ghosts, newlyweds, a guardian angel, and a meddling mother-in-law living together in a haunted cottage. Trip price includes: buffet dinner, show, & transportation.

Driver's Ed Classroom Instruction

Driver's Education Classroom Instruction will be July 8-12,15-19 from 1:30pm-4:30pm. To obtain your driver's permit, you will need 30 hours of classroom training. You will learn the basics of driving including MN state laws, driving tips, and more. If you are or will be 15 years of age by June 2019, you are eligible for this session. To register, go online: evw.k12.mn.us or bring payment and registration form to the EVW Community Ed Office. (Forms can be found on the table in the CE office.) When: July 8-12, 15-19 Time: 1:30 - 4:30 p.m. Cost: $120.00 per person before July 1st $130 after July 1st **Limit 30** Registration will be cut off at 30 people. Registration deadline: June 15th.

Parent Aware Class Learn the new rules of the road and rules that apply to new drivers. Take this course and your child will only have to log 40 Supervised Driving hours instead of 50! This class will be taught by a Today's Driving School instructor. When: Monday, July 15th Time: 6-7 pm Location: EVW HS Room 125 FREE!

Behind the Wheel Driver's Education Together with Today's Driving School, EVW Community Ed offers Behind the Wheel Driver's Ed instruction. All s essions are scheduled directly with Today's Driving School. They will pick students up at home or school. Students are required by MN state law to have 6 hours of behind the wheel training before they can take their drivers test. Students must be 16 years old and have a driving log of recorded hours of practice driving to take their test. All tests are set up

Summer Theater for Kids!!! Introducing.... Camp Omigosh!

Connor's summer is off to a rough start: the camp bus almost crashes, his cabin mates don't trust him, and the girls on the other side of the camp constantly outsmart him. But when he and his friends, Tasha, Parker, and Kimberly investigate the mystery surrounding the "Ghost of Dead BIlly", they begin a hilarious adventure that is worlds away from a typical campfire story. This haunted camp comedy with a sci-fi twist

has it all: ghosts, aliens, robots, plant zombies, and, of course, dodgeball!

Virtual Reality Camp! NEW!!!!

Check out the new & exciting world of Virtual Reality! This event will include a wide variety of virtual reality systems

ranging from a $15 Google Cardboard which works with your cell phone to display simple virtual experiences, all the

way up to a powerful $2000 Oculus Rift system which brings visually stunning and immersive worlds to life, and every-

thing in between! Better yet, bring the family along and watch each other's stunned reactions and amazement with each

new virtual encounter. There will also be a tennis ball shooting, remote control robot for you or the kids to drive while

you're not wearing or watching the virtual reality systems! It's the perfect fun time with family or friends!

Babysitting 101

April Fun!! Fishing Classes & Activities!

School of Fish

This is a 2 1/2 hour kids fish class open to kids and adults from grades 3 and up! This class is taught by a pro angler and fishing TV show host Mike Frisch. Students learn about lakes, finding fish in those lakes and some great ways to catch them! They will also learn to tie a fishing knot and rig and use a slip-bobber setup. Students will receive a rod & reel, tackle box with products from Northland Fishing Tackle & Strike King lures, a $10 Cabela's gift card, a School of Fish 32 page full color workbook, snack pack for during class, and a Fish on Kids book! (That's a $60 value!) In addition, one School of Fish graduate will be drawn to have the opportunity to be a guest on "Fishing in the Midwest TV"!

Kids will learn some basics about where fish live, and good ways to catch them including using the correct

bait, how to rig a fishing pole and how to cast as well as, safety in and on the water. Kids who attend this class

will have an opportunity to sign up for Let's Go Fishing trips during the summer. Parents are welcome and

encouraged to attend class with their child.
