RELIEF – Cleaner - Job DescriptionPositionRelief Cleaner ContractRelief (as & when contract)LocationThe MooreHaven Centre, O’Brien Street, TipperaryYou will be employed by The MooreHaven Centre, which includes all services run by the Company, you may be required to work from an alternative location in accordance with the needs of the service.Reporting RelationshipReporting to members of the Management Team Key Working RelationshipsThe Management Team & Centre staff as required.Purpose of the PostThe purpose of this role is to maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the MooreHaven Centre. The person filling this role is responsible for a very high level of cleanliness, light maintenance and general housekeeping duties. Principal Duties & ResponsibilitiesCleaning to a high standard all areas within the MooreHaven Centre or alternative locations as required by the service.Checking the WC (bathroom) facilities within the Centre according to the Centre’s Policy & GuidelinesMaintaining a high standard of cleanliness and dealing with any cleaning issues brought to your attention by management, staff and/or service users in all areas including the reception area to include:Ensuring all surface areas are dusted/washed regularly. Emptying Dustbins.Replenishing plastic cups for water dispensers.Replenishing tissues/toilet tissue.Ensuring that all hand sanitisers are refilled and in good working order.Maintaining a check log in each WC and other required areas.Ensure that all accidents are reported promptly to their line manager and relevant documentation is completed.Treating all individuals availing of our service with respect and dignity and contributing in a respectful and positive way to the service user’s well-being and development. Assisting service user(s) to be self-reliant and to foster their level of independence.It is your duty to report any concerns you have for the safety and welfare of the service users of the MooreHaven Centre to the designated officer, in line with the National Policy, Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults.To attend meetings as required.To attend training offered as required. To provide training on cleaning to service users as directed.To perform such other duties as may be assigned by management.Personal Specification:A strong commitment to caring and an empathetic understanding of those with an intellectual disability are essential attributes for this role. The successful candidate should possess excellent people skills, be flexible and have experience with rapid and complex changing work environments. Professional ExpectationThe Relief Cleaner must be aware of ethical policies and procedures which pertain to their area of practice including:National and MooreHaven agreed Policies and Codes of Good Practice. Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons at Risk of Abuse.Confidentiality Guidelines.Data Protection Guidelines (GDPR).Equal Opportunity Principles.Health & Safety requirements in compliance with MooreHaven instructions.Be fully familiar with fire precautions and fire drills.Notification of accidents, incidents and other reportable events.Must undertake relevant training courses (in house & external) as may be required to develop the necessary skills to meet service users/organisational needs.Must be familiar with new developments in the field of Intellectual disabilities/HIQA standards and any other relevant guidelines and policies pertaining to the role.ConfidentialityIn the course of your employment, you may have access to or hear information concerning the medical or personal affairs of service users or staff or other centres business.
