[Pages:4]Creating a Works Cited Page in Microsoft Word

1. Create a page break after the last page of your essay so that you have a new clean page with only the page number and your last name in the upper righthand corner (in the header).

2. On your new page, center the heading and write Works Cited. Then, return to aligning your text to the left, where you'll begin your first entry.

3. Before typing your first entry, change your indentations to hanging indentations. First, go to Format and Paragraph:

4. Then, choose Hanging under the pulldown menu for Special:

5. Then, type in each of your entries. Be sure to hit the return key after each entry is finished so that the hanging indent feature will be used.

6. To alphabetize your entries, highlight all of them and go to Table click AZ Sort....

7. Then, be sure you're sorting the text by Paragraphs, that the Type is Text, and Ascending is chosen. Then, click OK and your list will be alphabetized!
