About Dalian Operations

Dalian Operations is an operational service center responsible for providing supports to Fidelity's clients in Asia Pacific, including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore and Japan. The teams provide account administration services (including account opening, account maintenance, dealing, settlements, cash match, payment handling, etc) and investment admin services (including trade operations and investment supports, etc) to clients of different business channels in the region, including banks, brokerage firms, IFAs, insurance companies, high net-worth direct, retail direct, institutional. The product range supported includes SICAVS, 3rd party funds and onshore products. As some of the processes for the Asian clients are supported out of the UK head office, it is also the responsibility of the teams to communicate with the UK Operations teams to achieve operational excellence. In addition, the teams work very closely with the various Oversight teams (Legal, Compliance, Internal Audit, Corporate Security/AML, and Risk) in the region to implement Oversight requirements.

Purpose of your role

The role is to handle the Japan FSKK operational processes of new accounts, maintenance, fund document control, reconciliation, cash match, broker transfer, settlement, etc. The objective is to provide good quality service and ensure compliance of regulatory requirements and our internal Anti-Money Laundering procedures and policies.

Your key accountabilities

1. Handle new accounts opening, review account opening documents to ensure the compliance with all internal requirements

2. Handle account maintenance tasks based on customer instruction and company policies or procedures

3. Update fund holiday into the system

4. Manage fund prospectus documents like website uploading and stock monitoring

5. Handle cash match, bank reconciliation, settlement, broker transfers, dealing related processes

6. Complete all the customer requests and tasks assigned within the required timeframe

7. Follow up on outstanding issues and problems and escalate when appropriate

1. Ensure daily workflow are complied with Legal, Risk, Compliance policy and local regulatory requirements

8. Ensure all Anti-Money Laundering and Gatekeeper rules are being followed and procedures are being updated accordingly

9. Ongoing liaison with other departments in Japan to ensure a smooth workflow and all daily tasks are performed timely and accurately

10. May need to work on shift, like 7:00 am to 4:00 pm or 8:00 am to 5:00 pm or 9:00 am to 6:00 pm

11. May need to work extra hours based on operational requirements

12. May need to work on public holidays

- University or college students

- Fluent in Japanese (JLPT Level 1)

- Intermediate English capability

- PC skills – Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint

- Detail oriented, good logical thinking
