I Cor. 15:50-58

• Whatever a person does for God will be on purpose.

o One can fail accidentally.

o Christianity can expect a certain amount of testing and persecution.

• But victory has already been claimed.

o We will be the winner.

• Paul ties verse 57 and 58 together with the word therefore.

o He says because we already have the victory or for this reason; "Be steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord.

CERTAIN OF SALVATION.

A. A large number of Christians today are uncertain of their salvation.

1. Sin hinders their certainty. In Romans 10:9-13 there is;

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

a. No possibility of error.

b. No possibility of being fooled.

c. No possibility of mistake.

d. No possibility of failure.

← The only reason for failure is not to call.

A. Standards.

13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

B. Abstain from all appearance of evil.

C. Righteous living.

1. Borderline Christians.

And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

D. Follow instructions.

COURAGEOUS MESSAGE.

A. The Apostles had a courageous message.

• We have what the world needs.

1. One person can start an avalanche.

2. D.L. Moody. A man won him, and he won a million souls.

3. Billy Sunday staggered into the arms of the Saviour, and he won a million souls.

B. We must be courageous in our message.

C. We must be courageous in our witness.

D. We must be courageous in our preaching.
