The story of Thanksgiving: t song: 10 Song: : Create a pilgrim hat or Native American headband with feathers. Writing: Use crayons/pencils and paper to trace the letters in their name or other items around the room.Literacy/Library: Children will use pictures to create a collage of words that start with letter “t.”Dramatic Play: Pretend to dress up like a native American. What kind of clothing did they wear? Math: Number of the week (10). Count ten items from a bunch. Represent the number on a paper, using various arts and crafts materials.Science: Try to measure a turkey. Is it big? Small? Heavy? Light? Blocks: Measure parts of your body with blocks.TuesdayDate: 11/24Today we will be discussing some of the foods we eat on Thanksgiving. Turkey is one of the most popular foods we eat during the holiday. A turkey can come in all shapes and sizes. We will explore what a turkey is and which food group it is part of. We will also attempt to create our own turkey headbands with feathers.10 little Turkeys: the Cat Thanksgiving: Trace your hand and create a turkey. Color it in and decorate it with various materials.Writing: Dip fingers in paint and trace or write letters based on skill.Literacy/Library: Children will walk around the classroom identifying objects that start with letter “t.”Dramatic Play: Prepare a holiday Thanksgiving feast for your friends and family.
