In the article, “Caffeine Craze” Time for Kids is trying to persuade people not to consume caffeine products. First, Jacobson says, caffeine is a wildly addictive drug that should not be randomly distributed through the food supply and that caffeine can cause jitters, inability to sleep and a racing heartbeat. Also, doctors say that kids especially should avoid caffeine and that energy drinks are a cause for concern. Caffeine emergency room visits related to caffeine in energy drink consumption went from 10,068 visits in 2007 to 20,783 in 2011. Caffeine is definitely not good for you! Finding other ways to boost our energy through natural activities such as eating right, getting plenty of sleep and exercise are much better choices for our bodies.
