Congratulations, and welcome to Stanford Law School!

The Women of Stanford Law (WSL) are incredibly excited to welcome the Class of 2020 and transfers, and to meet you in the fall. We got to know many of you at our admit weekend reception, but allow us to once again introduce ourselves:

WSL is one of the largest and most active groups at SLS. It is run by and for the women at Stanford Law School, and its mission is to support female students in their academic, professional, and personal capacities. We hope to be a hub and a home for you during your time here, particularly throughout the craziness of 1L.

In the coming year, you can expect: information sessions with 2Ls and 3Ls eager to answer your questions about class selection and summer job applications; community building events, like hikes to get acquainted with beautiful California and study breaks for a little self-care during finals; opportunities to connect with female faculty members through meals and informal gatherings; career talks from female alums and practitioners; a chance to get together and honor women leaders at WSL's annual Celebration of Women in the Law; and more.

A big part of WSL's community here at SLS is our mentorship program, which matches incoming 1Ls with a mentorship "pod" of transfers, 2Ls and 3Ls to serve as a resource for the transition to SLS. The WSL mentoring program is designed to help you navigate the 1L (and 2L and 3L) experience by providing guidance, community events and support along the way. It's a wonderful way to help build our WSL community and to share the tips, life hacks, and wisdom that other women have accrued along the way.

If you're interested in participating in our mentorship program, please fill out this form by Tuesday, August 8th at 11:59pm PST:

If you have any questions about the mentorship program, please feel free to reach out to Mentorship Co-Chairs Caroline Cohn (caroline.p.cohn@) and Julia Ishiyama (ishiyama@stanford.edu).

We can't wait to welcome you to The Farm! Feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns in the coming months.

Thanks,

Meghan Koushik (mkoushik@stanford.edu) & Katherine Carey (krcarey@stanford.edu) Co-Presidents, Women of Stanford Law
