 Year 1 Weekly Bulletin143123414October 23rd 2020What we have been doing In numeracy we have been exploring Harvest number problems using our knowledge of doubles, number bonds to 10 and counting in fives. We enjoyed discovering the items in the Harvest Box and learning about what happens at Harvest time. We made posters to show what we have learnt. We also read the story ‘Possum’s Harvest Moon’ and wrote about why some of the animals were unable to come to the party as they were preparing for winter.We have had a wonderful harvest/halloween themed week which has included various activities such as, vegetable printing, pumpkin drawings, making symmetrical pumpkins and a pumpkin orienteering hunt.Home Learning If you have not yet had the chance to share a picture of your child at their favourite place in Cowbridge, please could you do so on Seesaw as it will form the basis of an activity after half term. In addition, please see Seesaw for a Growth Mindset activity to complete over half term. SpellingA big well done to all the children for doing very well in their first spelling test. Thank you for helping your child learn spellings this past week. We hope the sound mats made their way home to you. Please use these to help children form letters correctly and start to spell words when they are writing at home. New spellings will be uploaded to Seesaw to learn over half term. Letters and soundsMiss Fitchie’s letters and sounds group have been working on phase 2 sounds and will be beginning phase 3 after half term.
