Complete the forms, but leave the signature lines blank. You must sign in the presence of the town clerk or my assistant. NOTE: Whomever is Party A on one sheet is Party A on the next sheet, etc. Both parties must be present when returning Marriage Intentions to be signed. The Marriage Intentions cost is $25. We accept cash and checks only. Check can be made payable to the “Town of Georgetown”. After intentions are filled, you must wait 3 business days to schedule another appointment to pick up your marriage certificate. You have 60 days from the date that you file your intentions to get married. If you get married after the 60 days your marriage will be null and void.You will take this certificate with you on the day of your wedding and have your solemnizer to fill out a small section on the bottom of it. The certificate must come back to the Town Clerk’s office, in order, for it to be filed with the state and then you may pick up your copy.
