Art at Meadowpark Elementary with Mrs. KlaholzLet’s continue learning about the ELEMENTS OF ART. To remind yourself of the elements of art, here is a NEW video with a song to get STUCK in your head! HYPERLINK "" ’ve already discussed COLOR, LINE,, and SPACE, next we we look at texture.Grades K-2Take a look at this video: of you already have experience drawing a turtle. You will do a great job. I can’t wait to see them. This example shows the teacher using rubbing plates. You probably do not have these at home BUT you do have things around your home that do have different textures. A wooden door has a different texture than a concrete sidewalk. A woven placemat has a different texture than a tile. Have fun finding tiles. You might want to make a sample sheet before you use the texture on your turtle. Grades 3-5Take a look at this video: this Zentangle texture Sampler Art Project. When you finish it, use it to fill in a line drawing. You can use a pencil for this project. Pens are okay but when you make a mistake, you will have to use your creative mind to make it work for you.Have fun with these two drawings. Remember to use COLOR, LINE,, and SPACE, with your drawing! How about taking a tour to a museum this week? Here is an online tour of the NATIONAL MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY at the Smithsonian. Use the arrows on the bottom of the screen to walk around the museum. ’ve been creating at home. I hope you have too. I started creating a design on a jacket. I’ve had the idea for some time but there is no time like the present. Here are some pictures of what I have done so far. Also, I’m learning to play the ukulele, walking Axel a lot, and working on my genealogy. I’ve been reading my Art History books. I have quite a few. There are so many beautiful pieces of art around the world. When I read about a piece of art, I find interesting, I go on the internet and find additional information about it. Here is a piece I’ve always loved: ART I LOVE art was painted in 1304! It is a special kind of paint. I can’t believe it still exists. The color is amazing. If you notice it is really flat looking. Artists had difficulty with perspective. I don’t mind that. In some ways, I like it because of it! What do you think? I’m interested to hear your point of view. Please email me at debra.klaholz@ if needed. I would love to see what you are creating. Please email me photos of your creations and let me know how you are doing. I promise to write back. My office hours are 7-11 daily. I miss all of my students. I can’t wait to get back to school. ................
