MARY is sat at the table but is staring straight ahead, as though there is nothing around her. PETER serves their dinner (soup and bread rolls). MARY slowly looks down at her food and cutlery almost in confusion. PETER calmly moves the spoon towards MARY’S hand, but she flicks it away. PETER looks worried but then moves the spoon to MARY again. MARY picks up the spoon and begins to stir her soup, but doesn’t eat any of it. PETER has a thinking moment to himself. It is clear, that MARY isn’t happy or is confused (Why? We don’t know at this present moment). PETER decides to pick up two of the bread rolls and stick a fork in both to look like feet and legs. MARY looks up to PETER. PETER begins to dance with the rolls as though they are legs and feet smiling at MARY to try and get her to smile or show some sort of expression. But this doesn’t work. PETER sighs in disappointment. - CUT TO –2 INT. LIVING ROOM / KITCHEN- 20 MINUTES LATER 2 PETER is searching for something in the cupboard in the living room. We notice it is an album of some sort. PETER goes back into the kitchen to find MARY still stirring her food, which PETER finished over 20 minutes ago. PETER shows MARY this photo album, which contains pictures of them both younger, happy, dancing and in love. MARY looks at the album blankly and goes back to stirring the soup. PETER sighs in disappointment. - CUT TO –3 INT. LIVING ROOM / KITCHEN– LATER 3PETER puts a throw over MARY as she has a nap in the living room. MARY sleeps. PETER goes back into the kitchen to tidy up from tonight’s dinner. As he is doing so, he begins to whistle a tune and dances whilst tidying. -CUT TO - 4 INT. LIVING ROOM 4MARY gradually wakes up and hears the whistling tune from PETER. MARY tries to think for a moment. - CUT TO - 5 INT. KITCHEN/ LIVING ROOM 5PETER continues to whistle this tune. PETER is finished cleaning in the kitchen and makes his way back into the living room with a cup of tea for himself and MARY, but he looks slightly defeated within himself. As PETER enters the living room he notices MARY is dancing to his whistle. This was a tune to a song they used to dance to when they were younger. PETER quickly places down the cups of tea and slowly moves towards MARY. He places his hand out towards her, but MARY stops and stars for a moment. PETER looks at MARY with belief and encouragement. MARY takes PETER’S hand. PETER kisses it and they slowly dance to his whistle. PETER is overjoyed as MARY has finally remembered something that they used to share together. Dance and memories. - FADE TO BLACK - ................
