In the article, “An Economist Explains Why College Athletes Should Be Paid”, David Zirin explains that paying these student athletes is a good idea. There are some, though, that argue it is only fair to compensate these young men and women for the many ways in which their athletic performances benefit their respective educational institutions. Kieran McCauley, in the article, “College Athletes Shouldn’t be Paid” makes a compelling case against the idea of a scholar athlete salary.
