The following are just SOME of the many "outside" scholarships that you may be eligible to apply for. Visit specific college websites or the CCC to learn more about the various scholarship offers.

Note: Scholarships with a red asterisk (*) do not require U.S. Citizenship. Highlighted deadlines have not been updated for the 2019-2020 school year.

Gates Scholarship The Gates Scholarship is a highly selective, full scholarship for exceptional, Pell-eligible, minority, high school seniors with a 3.3 or higher and an extensive leadership and community service record.

Koch Impact Scholarship Program This scholarship is awarded to high school seniors attending Kansas State University majoring in business or engineering. You must have a minimum ACT score of 23 and 3.25 GPA

*Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award If you are trained in classical music or are a vocalist, apply for this competitive scholarship. It's available for all grades.

Deadline: September 30, 2019 Award Amount: $10,000 Visit: Timothy P. O'Shaughnessy Lifelong Learning Scholarship (LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP) This scholarship awards up to $100,000 over ten years! Applications will exhibit the following character traits: integrity, intellectual curiosity, exploratory spirit, leadership, humility, inclusivity, worldly interests in language, polymath, among others. Must have 26 ACT OR 3.6 GPA.

*The Hispanic Heritage Foundation Scholarship If chosen, the student must attend an award banquet in Dallas, TX in order to receive the award.

Omega Psi Phy Fraternity International High School Essay Contest To win, you must write an essay on the following prompt: "The U.S. Census projects that the United States will become a majority minority country by the year 2045. How can we combat, prevent and/or reduce prejudice, discrimination and violence in a new, more diverse America?"

Horatio Alger Scholarship (LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP) The Horatio Alger Kansas Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to students in the State of Kansas who have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity and who aspire to pursue higher education.

Coca-Cola Scholarship Coca-Cola provides a nationally recognized scholarship opportunity. Applicants must have a 3.0 or higher GPA and a strong record of community service and extracurricular activities to apply.

The Klose Scholarship Are you interested in teaching math or science and want to go to Wichita State University? Apply for this scholarship which covers the average cost of tuition and books for two years! Minimum 3.5 GPA and ACT score of 24 OR top 10% in your class.

Honors College Koch Scholars Program To be a Koch Scholar, you must be an incoming freshmen student at Wichita State with a declared major in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Human Resources or Management Information Systems. You must participate in 3-4 Koch Scholars events and have a GPA of 3.7 and minimum ACT score of 27.

The Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship This scholarship is for students who have a strong community service and volunteer record.

*The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards (LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP) This scholarship is awarded to students who have an exclusive record of volunteer community service.

*Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship Program This is a very competitive scholarship with multiple steps. You must demonstrate financial need. Applicants should start the process of apply for this prestigious scholarship early.

*Dr. Evies O. Cranford Arise Rising Star Scholarship (LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP) This is a new, local scholarship that is for students who have a 3.25 or higher.

Deadline: November 15, 2019 Award Amount: $500 Visit: Visit the CCC for an application. James Alan Cox Foundation Scholarship Interested in earning a new digital camera? Then enter this photography competition. Students must submit photographs, transcripts and letters of recommendation to earn the camera. Deadline: November 15, 2019

Dell Scholars Program Applicants must be in AVID, Upward Bound or GEAR UP to apply. Please see the CCC for more detailed information.

*Linwood Sexton Endowed Scholarship (LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP) This scholarship is geared toward minority students who will be attending WSU who plan to major in Education or Business.

Rudd Foundation Scholarship (LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP) This is a fantastic scholarship opportunity that cover what is left after applying a PELL grant to your cost of attendance. This is for students planning on going to WSU, ESU or FHSU. Visit the CCC with questions. You must be PELL eligible with a 3.0 GPA required.

Deadline: December 13, 2019 Award Amount: Covers all remaining student expenses, including tuition, room, and board. Visit:

AXA Achievement Scholarship AXA scholarship winners are known as AXA Achievers: "They are ethnically and economically diverse, and they share these qualities: Ambition and drive, determination to set and reach goals, respect for self, family and community, and ability to succeed in college."
