October 28, 2020Dear Parent or Guardian,Your student is currently enrolled in one or more of our Advanced Placement (AP) courses at Glacier Peak High School and in May (May 3 – May 14) will have the opportunity to take one or more of the exams specifically associated with those courses. The AP exams are a function of the College Board and therefore require a fee that is collected by the school (by November 13, 2020) that facilitates the administration of the exams. The cost for EACH exam the student takes is $95, payable to Glacier Peak High School (GPHS). A fee reduction is available for those students with financial need. A good indication of financial need is if the student has previously qualified for the free/reduced lunch program. If there is a need for financial assistance in paying for AP tests, please contact me to discuss the situation. Every effort is made to prevent students from being denied access to AP tests based upon financial need. Because we must submit an order for the exact number and type of exams that will be administered, you must indicate which exam(s) your student will be taking when paying online or in person. If paying online, please use the following instructions:Go to Glacier Peak High School website and choose “payments & online purchases” or go to: the “Student Login” User ID is the student number with the leading “0” Password is student’s last name only… Capitalize any letter normally capitalized in your last name.Click on your student’s nameGo to “items at student’s school”Find the category that says “AP Tests”Choose your test(s). Purchase online anytime or at the bookkeeping window from 1:00pm to 3:00pmIf additional hours are needed, call Bookkeeping at (360) 563–7504 to schedule a time.Registrations received after Friday, November 13, 2020 may not be accepted or will incur a $40 late fee (assessed by the AP, College Board organization). The 2021 testing dates and times can be viewed at the following site: . Requests for all testing accommodations need to be completed by the student’s parents and submitted to the College Board (see directions online at: ) by January 25, 2021.I am glad that your student is a part of our AP program, and I look forward to a successful exam experience in May!Sincerely,Lance Peters, Assistant Principal, GPHS (360) 563-7593 ................
