BUSAN-GYEONGNAM RACECOURSE

Weather: Fine Track moisture: 17%

STEWARDS: Brett A Wright (Chairman), Shin Yong Sang and Park Jang Youl

GENERAL: Following a report made to Stewards, an inquiry was held into an alleged incident that took place inside the Trainer’s Room following the running of Race 2 on Friday 26th February. Evidence was taken from Cho Yong Bae, trainer of Ace Yeongung, which competed in the race and Jockey Jo Chan Hoon, who rode Boryeong Juja, in the event. On the evidence, it was established that following the race, jockey Jo Chan Hoon went to the Trainer’s Room to speak to Trainer Cho Yong Bae about interference his mount caused during the event and in particular, to Ace Yeongung, however; Trainer Cho Yong Bae was upset by jockey Jo Chan Hoon’s ride and expressed his annoyance in an abusive manner. Both Jockey Jo Chan Hoon and Trainer Cho Yong Bae stated that this was the extent of the incident. On the balance of the evidence before them, Stewards took no action other than to warn Trainer Cho Yong Bae, that whilst he may have been annoyed with the interference caused to his mount during the race, he would be expected to conduct himself at all times, in manner expected of the Trainer’s position he holds.

SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS:

BUSAN-GYEONGNAM RACECOURSE - FRIDAY 19TH FEBRUARY, 2010

RACE 9 – CLASS 1 (Foreign-bred)-Baik Kwang Yeol, trainer of Beongae Boy explained he instructed Apprentice Kim Young Min to race in a mid to rearward position as is usual, however; approaching the 1700m, the horse, which was receiving kickback, commenced to race keenly, obliging Apprentice Kim Young Min, to shift to the outside making the 1600m turn. He said it was clear from there onwards Beongae Boy continued to race keenly, despite some effort from Apprentice Kim Young Min to settle the horse and near the 1000m, had raced up to join Captain Sir in the lead but commenced to tire from the 450m. He added whilst he believed Apprentice Kim Young Min should have made a better effort to try to settle Beongae Boy, he accepted the horse has been difficult to control by its reluctance to settle.
