Creating a Slideshow with Music in Photo Story 3
1. When you start up Photo Story, you will have three choices:
Select Begin a new story. Click Next.
2. In the next screen you can import a folder of pictures to use for your slide show. Click on Import Pictures, and then navigate to the desired folder and select all of the
images (Control-A) in the folder. Click OK.
3. Your selected photos will show up in the image editing screen:
You can use these controls to do basic editing to your pictures, such as color correction, red-eye, contrast, rotate, etc.
Click the slides here to select them
Click these arrows to move slides around in the order sequence.
Click Next when you are ready to move on.
4. In the next screen you can add titles to some of your images:
With these buttons you can change the font and the position of your text
Type your text here.
Select another slide to add text to here.
Click Next when you are ready to go on.
5. In the next screen you can record narration and set the motion of your slides:
If you have a built-in or external microphone, you can click here to record your narration. As you narrate, advance from slide to slide to set the timings of your slides.
To set the motion of your slides, click here to open the Customize Motion window (see next pag):
It is possible to zoom in or pan from one area of the picture to another as the slides play. This creates a more visually dynamic slideshow.
Place a checkmark next to Specify start and end position of motion.
Then resize and/or move these selection boxes for the Start position image and the End position image.
You can set the slide durations here (unless you have already set the durations as you recorded your narration).
6. Click the Transition tab at the top of the Customize Motion window:
Here you can choose the style of transition that will occure between your slides as the slideshow plays.
Click Close when you are finished.
Click Next when you are ready to move on.
7. In the next screen you can add background music to your slideshow:
Click here to select a song from your music library on your computer.
You can also create your own music! This is a fun process, and you will end up with a completely unique song.
Click here to preview your slideshow with your music.
Click Next when you are ready to move on.
8. In the next screen you can save your slideshow as a Windows Media Player file, so that you can burn it on CD or put it on your web site, etc.
Select this choice to save it to your computer.
Here you want to change the save destination.
Here you can change the video settings (640 x 480 is a good size for playing from a CD.
