Make sure your card is active. If it needs to be renewed, you can come into any Clermont County Public Library (CCPL) branch with your picture ID and something with your current address (if your picture ID does not have it listed). Cards need to be renewed every year to be considered active. Any fines must be paid down to $0.00 in order to renew your card.

Downloadable books will not show up in your regular CCPL account. However, if your CCPL account has fines at $10.01 or over, you will not be able to download any books until it is under $10.01.

Frequently Asked Questions:

eBooks:

Q: What formats can I read/listen to on my Android phone or tablet?

A: You can download and read EPUB eBooks, and Kindle books using the Kindle App for Android. You can download and listen to MP3 eAudiobooks.

Q: What’s the difference between Adobe® PDF eBooks and Adobe EPUB eBooks?

A: Adobe PDF eBooks feature a static layout with set page breaks. PDF works well for graphic novels, illustrated titles, and other titles with specific formatting. Adobe EPUB eBooks feature reflowable text, which means you can resize the text or change the size of your display and the text of the Adobe EPUB eBook reflows to fill the available view area. This makes Adobe EPUB eBooks the best choice for reading eBooks on small screens, like an eBook reader.

Q: Can I transfer Adobe eBooks from my computer to my Android phone/tablet?

A: No. To add eBooks to OverDrive Media Console for Android phones & tablets, download titles directly to your device.

eAudiobooks:

Q: Why can't I download OverDrive WMA Audiobooks to my Android phone/tablet?

A: The Android operating system does not support DRM-protected OverDrive WMA Audiobooks. Android device users may enjoy OverDrive MP3 Audiobooks.

Q: What is the difference between OverDrive® WMA Audiobooks and OverDrive MP3 Audiobooks?

A: OverDrive WMA and MP3 Audiobooks differ in compatibility as well as file size.

OverDrive WMA Audiobooks:

1. Download to:

o Windows® computers.

2. Transfer to:

o Apple® devices (with publisher permission) from a Windows computer.

o Portable devices that support DRM-protected WMA files.

OverDrive MP3 Audiobooks:

1. Download to:

o Windows computers.

o Mac® computers.

o Android™ devices.

o Blackberry® devices.

o iPhone® / iPad® / iPod touch® devices.

2. Transfer to:

o Apple devices from a Windows or Mac computer.

o Most cell phones and PDAs.

o MP3 players.

File size: Each part of an OverDrive WMA Audiobook is about half the file size of MP3. This means OverDrive WMA Audiobooks will download and transfer more quickly.

Q: Instead of the title I expected, I downloaded a file with the extension 'ODM'. What should I do?

A: The download of an ODM file is part of the normal download process for audiobooks, music, and video. However, the ODM file should automatically prompt OverDrive Media Console to open. You may need to install or reinstall OverDrive Media Console. To view instructions, go to the Setup tab of My Help. After OverDrive Media Console is installed, return to the OverDrive-powered website. Select the title's 'Download' button. The title should now download.
