-294005-25209500Parents GuideWhat is Habbo?Habbo Hotel is a virtual hotel environment where players can socialise with each other using customized avatars called Habbo’s. The virtual environment features Public Rooms which are accessible to all players; and Guest Rooms, which are private user-created rooms. Habbo’s can furnish their rooms with items called Furniture, and may also choose to adopt a virtual pet. Habbo also features a number of mini-games within the Hotel environment, and we encourage the community to create and host new games and other events, such as competitions, debates, and performances.Does it cost anything for my child to play Habbo?Players can register for an account, check into Habbo Hotel, and play in the Public Rooms for free. However, we do charge a small fee for certain premium items in the Hotel, such as Furniture, and Habbo Club subscriptions, which provide additional features and services to the players. These premium items are purchased using the Hotel's currency, Habbo Credits, which can be purchased through various secure methods such as prepaid cards or SMS. All of our payment systems have a certain limit to prevent over-spending and we make it very clear that players need to ask their parents' or guardians' permission before making a purchase. I'm seeing charges on my phone bill/credit card bill. What are they? Please note that we do not operate automatic dialers. The only way you can be charged with a Habbo purchase within your telephone bill is if someone picked up your mobile phone and sent a text message to the Habbo Credits line.If you have found charges for Habbo on your mobile bill, landline telephone bill or credit/debit card statement, then it is likely that a user of Habbo in your household has purchased Habbo Credits through that method. As all transactions are initiated by the Habbo user, we are unable to offer refunds as it is up to the parent/guardian to monitor their child's online activity and spending.Habbo cannot be responsible for the actions taken by our users. You should speak to the user in question regarding these payments and educate them about responsible spending. Should you wish for further information about the charges, or to request the account user be suspended from the service, please contact usWhat tools does Habbo use to ensure my child’s safety? To help our users enjoy their time in the Hotel and stay as safe as possible, we have created a number of tools to ensure control over each and every situation. We recommend that you read the following information together with your child to make sure they understand what they can do to be in control of their Habbo experience.?-Ignore buttonIf another user is bothering your child, or they simply do not want to listen to what somebody says, they can silence this person by using the Ignore button. To do this, they click on the avatar of the person they want to silence. The Ignore button will appear and once they click on it, the speech from the user in question automatically becomes invisible.?-Room moderation toolsYour child is in control of their own rooms. They get to decide what happens in their rooms and who can visit them. This allows them to play an active part in the general Habbo moderation and to contribute to a safer, enjoyable and responsible community. Your child has the following tools at their disposal:-*KickThis tool removes a user from a room. The user may return to the room, if it is not full or locked.*MuteThis tool mutes a user in the room. Your child can choose to mute a user for 2, 5 or 10 mins.*Mute roomThis tool works in the same way as Mute, but here all Habbo’s in a room will be muted.*Ban This tool lets your child ban a Habbo from their room for a period of time. They can choose between 1 hour, 1 day and permanent (group members can only be banned for one hour or one day).*Remove BanThis tool serves to remove a ban previously imposed. If your child made a mistake when banning someone they can rectify it with this button.??-Control Access to roomsThere are options to help our users control access to their rooms:-Open – Any user may enter the roomPassword – The room is locked with a password. Only users who have the password can enter.Doorbell – Users will need to ring the doorbell and your child decides who gets to come in.Invisible -?Users without room rights cannot see the room in the navigator.?- Room FilterThis filter serves as an addition to the chat filter, also known as bobba filter. Some words that are generally allowed in the hotel may be considered inappropriate by some users or they simply don't want these words said in their own rooms. With the room filter users can control what words or phrases they don't allow others to say in their rooms. They can set and edit the room filter differently in each of their rooms.?-Profile privacy settingsOur users are and remain anonymous and their personal information is not shown anywhere in the hotel. Nevertheless we have put at their disposal some profile settings to give them even more control over their privacy. These settings can be accessed through the Account Settings link which appears in the same window as the name of the user. The privacy settings options are as follows:-Online status - If they don’t want to be seen while connected to the hotel, they can click nobody.Follow me settings – Only their friends are able to follow them from one room to the next. Nevertheless if they would like a quiet moment to themselves, they can click nobody in these settings. This way nobody will know where they are.?Safety lockOn Habbo you have the option to protect your account from unwanted access. If you think your account has been compromised, we’ll block it. All main features such as trading furniture will be disabled until the account has been unblocked. You can activate the safety lock in Account settings. For more support, advice or to make a report please see the parents portion of the CEOP website. ................
