Keeping boredom at bay these holidays

The winter school holidays are almost here, and Melton City Council has kids and teens sorted with activities and events to keep them busy.

There’s something for everyone, right across the City of Melton, including sporting activities, library activities and much more.

Council’s vacation care program is open to all primary school-aged children, and include an excursion to Scienceworks, a World Cup themed day, and cooking incursions.

Email vacationcareprogram@melton..au or call 9747 7200 for more information.

Melton and Caroline Springs libraries are hosting free activities including animation workshops, recycled art and craft, mini maestros and a chess tournament.

The Teenage Holiday Program is offering up a range of activities from laser tag and indoor rock climbing, to ghost and street art tours.

There’s also Get Activated Stay Motivated which will introduce kids aged 1-12 to a range of new sports.

City of Melton Mayor, Cr Bob Turner, said that the affordable school holiday programs offered by Council were a fun way to keep kids and teens active and entertained during their school break.

“The school holiday activities run by Council promote learning, healthy lifestyles and encourage the youth in our community to socialise and meet likeminded people,” Cr Turner said.

“Our vacation care program is also a big help to busy parents and guardians of young children who still need to work through the holidays.”

Bookings required. For more information about our school holiday programs, visit melton..au
