Our health/nutrition coordinator will be stopping in to read the children, “Bernstein bears go to the dentist”. Our volunteer dentist might be stopping by as well to catch rescreens and children who weren’t in attendance the last time she came to do a screening. This month we’re also focusing on “friendships” to go along with Valentine’s Day. They are taking about relationships. Goals / Projects – Next Month: for March the themes will be Dr. Seuss and the Iditarod. The first week they’ll be studying the Iditarod, which will include daily check-ins on the racers. I’m hoping that we can find a musher to come in with a dog and/or sled to talk to the kids about racing. When that is over, the studies will shift to dr seuss. We’ll even have a day where MS Christine will dress up as Dr. Seuss – perhaps his birthday! For this theme we will be working a lot on rhyming, using his books. The teachers will be focusing on several learning objectives, using Dr. Seuss as the vehicle to achieve them.Attendance: (If Program Option Is Below 85%):Excused44%Sick6.7%Not Excused37.2Not Scheduled11.8 Center Information: Willow CrestGeneral Activities / Classroom Theme and/or CC System being implemented: The children began learning about clothing in January.
