Driver Education Class InformationStudents must be on time. Section 1 starts at 8:00 a.m., Section 2 at 10:15, and Section 3 at 12:30. Students must maintain a C average to pass. This is a 75%. In order to pass the DMV temps test, which is NOT given in class, an 80% is required on a 50 question multiple choice test plus a road sign test.The State of Wisconsin requires 30 hours of classroom instruction. This is not a school district, instructor, or summer school requirement. It is a regulation of the Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles. Students can miss 2 class of the 17 scheduled classes and still attain these hours (15 days X 2 hours per day). However, all work missed on any absent day must be completed to pass.If student is absent more than 2 classes, the student will be dropped from the class because he/she will no be able to make the 30 hour state requirement.There are not enough textbooks for the 90 students enrolled. Therefore, all work must be done in class. Late work will not be accepted. If absent, work must be completed during the next scheduled class.Because of the number of required topics to be covered, the course moves very quickly. Special needs students may require additional help at home because this is unavailable during the class.REQUIREMENTS FOR OBTAINING A WISCONSIN TEMPORARY DRIVING LICENSE:You must be 15 ? years old to get your temporary license. The temps test for obtaining the temporary license must be taken at the Division of Motor Vehicles.You must have your original birth certificate and social security number when applying for your temporary license.You must also have a completed Wisconsin Driver License Application form. You must have the Section D School Certification Section filled out and signed by the Driver Ed school where your Behind the Wheel training will take place, not by the classroom instructor.The skills test may not be scheduled for 6 months from the date the temporary license is issued.
