“A LOOK BACK”

The Love Truck Ministry would like to thank all the parishioners of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton for their generous support of time, talent, and treasure this past year. Your generous sharing of gifts provided help to our brothers and sisters who needed seeing the love of Jesus in a very real and tangible way. We would like to share with you how those gifts were received, but more importantly how they were shared with those in need this past year.

The Love Truck Ministry is mainly funded for the entire year through two major collections…the “Back to School” collection and the “Christmas Collection”. The other ways we receive funds are through donations in collection box in the foyer of the church, private donations sent to SEAS specifically designated for the Love Truck ministry and donations through the parish based

e-Giving via Faith Direct program.

We prayerfully ask that you consider making Love Truck part of your monthly giving as we do much more in our community in addition to the "Back to School" and "Christmas Collection" programs.

As we interact with more organizations devoted to serving others in our community, we are continually amazed of how much need there really is in the Plano area. Because of your continued support and generosity, you are having a real impact in helping those in our community who truly are in need.

The Love Truck ministry would greatly appreciate and welcome more adult volunteers to serve as a shift leader a few times a year and help ensure we continue to comply with the Safe Environment Program.

The following page is a list of programs and charities you helped support last year. Not all were supported directly through monetary contributions…many were supported with goods that you donated.

For the twelve months ended June 30, 2021

Minnie’s Food Pantry

(Located in Plano)

Delivered over 25,000 lbs. of food

Catholic Charities & St. Vincent de Paul

Delivered 12 truckloads of clothing, household items, furniture,

home electronics and other donations

Back to School Program

(A local Back-to-School Program)

Continued our parish-wide collection for Replenish School Supplies, a non-profit organization

partnering with the Plano ISD, to benefit underprivileged students with school supplies. In

addition we donated $1,000 to the Plano ISD Education Foundation.

Agape Resource and Assistance Center whose mission is to provide housing and transitional services to homeless single women, moms and their children that empower them to move from homelessness and crisis to fulfilling, self-sustaining lives. We donated $12,000 to help women and their children who were homeless.

Plano Overnight Warming Station (POWS) The Plano Overnight Warming Station coalition was formed to bring faith communities and agencies together who will collaborate to provide a safe place for the homeless during extreme cold weather conditions. We donated funds to help support their program.

Christmas Program

(Serving South Oak Cliff and SW Dallas)

Provided over 500 Christmas gifts at a cost of $14, 547, benefitting 187 children and 132 adults who

would have otherwise gone without any presents on Christmas morning. We provided two gifts per child and one gift per adult. St Elizabeth’s Love Truck Ministry is one of the largest contributors to the Catholic Charities’ Christmas Program.

Miscellaneous.

Provided gloves, socks, men’s and women’s underwear and stocking caps to the Plano Overnight Warming Station (POWS) which was greatly needed. POWS provides a place for the homeless in our community to stay during extreme cold weather conditions.

Continued our annual Fan Drive to help people who do not have air conditioning during the hot days of summer and the Winter Coat drive to support The Plano Overnight Warming Station and the Plano Clothes Closet.

Volunteer Hours

In addition, a total of over 750 volunteer hours, including 300 volunteer hours for

the Christmas Program were donated to help support all facets of these programs.
