|The homework below is a list of tasks to be done every day, Monday to Friday, if possible. An hour a day is the goal. Do what you can with your child |

|each day. |

|(Weekly goal for grade two is 5 hours per week). |

|Personal belongings – Please see the email that went home last Wednesday, April 29th for the schedule |

|as to when/how you may come in to pick up your child’s belongings at school. |

|Continue to practice spelling 5 words a day. Keep track of words that need further practice. (We were on list 17 when we left school.) Please practice |

|words from the Grade 3 spelling list for an extra challenge. (Sent home last week.). Try to think of some creative ways to practice! |

|Sight Words |

|Practice reading one column each day. Keep track of words that need practice. Practice reading the Grade 3 sight word list for an extra challenge. |

|Read on RAZ each day. (30 minutes) |

|Remember to: Listen to the story, read the story, and do the quiz if there is one. Try to record yourself reading one of your favorite books this week |

|Try to work through the Xtra math the program once each day (it will take 5-10 minutes). |

|subtract within 20. Feel free to explore the many other games provided on this site as well. Those who want an added challenge, feel free to choose |

|Grade 3 Math options. Have fun! |

|GREEN ARROW. This week we will focus on adding with 8 which uses the same strategy as adding with 9. We have attached the Parent Tip and the new |

|flashcards. (You can make your own flashcards as well.) Please go to my teacher page on the Priestman Street School website to access games and videos|

|to support the Green Arrow. |

|Please see the sheet attached with instructions and questions for an extra challenge for the month of May. If your child wants to try this, send me a |

|picture of their work when it is completed. Remember you can do the work on any sheet of paper, it does not have to be done on the answer sheet |

|If you could be any superhero at all who would you be and why? Tell (describe in detail) what you would wear, what your special powers would be and |

|what you would use them for. You can make up your own superhero, it does not have to be one already known to us. Write at least 5 sentences and draw a |

|picture to go with your sentences. Remember to put in an upper case letter to start and a stop mark to finish each sentence. Send me a picture of your |

|work if you can! I’d love to see it! |
