Our building remains shut, but we are hopeful that we will reopen in the not too distant future and be able to generate commercial revenues once more.? We have received emergency funding to help us survive this crisis, and help us to deliver on our objectives, despite the lack of any commercial revenue.?? Finance is a key enabler to the organisation delivering on its ambitious goals.Primary Purpose:The Finance team leads on matters relating to risk and finance at the Centre. We develop processes and procedures that allow the Centre to operate effectively and efficiently, whilst minimizing risk. The finance team aims to provide a value-added service through the production of accurate and timely financial information and effective finance business partnering.Responsible to the Finance & Corporate Services Director, you will work closely with the entire finance team and our internal customers to ensure that our financial processes are compliant with our financial regulations, streamlined, efficient and automated where possible. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a successful track record in delivering process improvements and automation within a finance function and across the wider business. SpecialistAccountabilities:Process Improvements – In consultation with the finance team and internal customers review current processes, policies and procedures and recommend and implement improvements to ensure finance operate efficiently, and in accordance with current legislation. Prioritise identified improvements and implement in a timely manner. Automate processes where possible.Update policies and procedures – Review current policies and procedures, update or create as required. Ensure a register of policies is created and process established for regular policy reviews.Financial Awareness & Control - Proactively drive financial awareness in the business to ensure compliance with financial processes and procedures. Educate finance team and users on any changes implemented to ensure smooth change management process.Professional advice and technical guidance in identifying and evaluating financial risk factors in all WMC programming and activities, ensuring internal controls are functioning effectively to mitigate against any risk that may arise. Internal & External Relationships - Developing external relationships with appropriate contacts required as part of the process re-engineering project eg SAGE consultantAd-hoc duties - Any other duties as may be reasonably required, commensurate with the grade and general level of responsibility.GenericAccountabilities:Consultation - Actively engage with the stakeholders to ensure the project is delivered in a consultative way.Resource Management – Ensure appropriate technology and resources are used to ensure optimum performance of the team.Financial Management – Ensure cost benefit analysis is performed for proposed improvements and monitored post implementationDrive Continuous Improvement – drive continuous improvement across the organization.? Continually review processes and procedures to ensure that the department and business is operating efficiently and effectively.Promote & embed our brand and our values – provide a consistent culture across the organization by living by & role modelling our values.Risk & Compliance – Ensure that your department is compliant with all policies, procedures and legislation, identify and communicate to Senior Leadership Team any identified risks and ensure BCP procedures are in place.Responsibility to ensure that your department is compliant with GDPR regulations and the Centre Data Protection and Data Retention Policies, and the timely reporting of any breaches.Success Measures:Detailed plan of deliverables.Implementation of deliverables to agreed timeframes.Buy in from finance team and wider business to new processes and procedures.
