Observing Metamorphosis

Procedure

1. Place a 2-cm piece of ripe banana in a jar and leave it open.

2. Check the jar every day for two weeks. When you see fruit flies, cover the

mouth of the jar with cheesecloth.

3. Identify, describe, and draw all the stages of metamorphosis that you

observe.
