Fort Santiago, the place of his incarceration, following his recon- ciliation with the?Catholic Church. The marriage is disputed by some sectors because no records were found regarding the union, discounting the unusual events of that day, even if it was attested by Josephine herself and the officiating priest. Following Rizal’s death, she joined the revolutionary forces in Cavite under General Pantaleon Garcia, and witnesses the Tejeros Convention on March 1897 before returning to Manila She returned to Hong Kong upon the advise of the American consul in Manila.
