The God of the Old and New Testaments

The following is a compilation of scriptures showing that God the Father is the

Supreme Most High God of both the Old and New Testaments.

Acts 3:13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers,

glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the

presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go. (NKJV here and

the following)

The Father was the God of the OT Patriarchs, and Jesus was His Servant.

2 Samuel 7:26. So let Your name be magnified forever, saying, 'The LORD

of hosts is the God over Israel.' And let the house of Your servant David be

established before You.

The Lord of hosts is God the Father.

Zechariah 13:7 "Awake, O sword, against My Shepherd, Against the Man

who is My Companion," Says the LORD of hosts. "Strike the Shepherd, And

the sheep will be scattered; Then I will turn My hand against the little ones.

Jesus is described as the Shepherd and Companion of the LORD of hosts who is

the Father.

Isaiah 37:16 "O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, the One who dwells between

the cherubim, You are God, You alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You

have made heaven and earth.

Hosea 12:5 That is, the LORD God of hosts. The LORD is His memorable

name.

Isaiah 42:8 I am the LORD, [Hebrew=YHVH (Yehovah)] that is My name;

And My glory I will not give to another, [including Jesus] Nor My praise to

carved images.

Deuteronomy 6:4 "Hear, O Israel: The LORD [YHVH] our God, the LORD

[YHVH] is one!

Nehemiah 9:6. ¡°You alone are the LORD [YHVH]. You made the skies and

the heavens and all the stars. You made the earth and the seas and

everything in them. You preserve them all, and the angels of heaven worship

you.

Psalm 83:18 That they may know that You, whose name alone is the LORD

(YHVH), Are the Most High over all the earth.

Jeremiah 10:10 But the LORD [YHVH] is the true God; He is the living God

and the everlasting King. At His wrath the earth will tremble, And the nations

will not be able to endure His indignation.

Exodus 20:2, 3 and 5

2) "I am the LORD [YHVH] your God, who brought you out of the land of

Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

3) "You shall have no other gods before Me. This includes Jesus who is also

God (John 1:1), but Jesus is not the Supreme God..

5) you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD [YHVH]

your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the

children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,

1 Corinthians 11:3 But I want you to know that the head of every man is

Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God [the Father].

John 14:28 You have heard Me say to you, 'I am going away and coming

back to you.' If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said, 'I am going

to the Father,' for My Father is greater than I.

John 4:21 Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when

you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.

23) But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship

the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.

24) God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."

John 17:3 ¡°And this is eternal life, that they may know You [the Father], the

only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.¡± And this is eternal life,

that they may know You [the Father], the only true God, and Jesus Christ

whom You have sent.

1 Corinthians 8:6 yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all

things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all

things, and through whom we live.
