CPM Algebra B

Objectives

Algebra B is a key course in the CPM sequence that will begin to prepare students for the Keystone Exams and future high school math courses. The course material is an extension of Algebra A and will present more difficult topics. It begins to lay the groundwork for all higher level mathematics courses, both in high school and college. The real world applications are more frequent and useful.

Attendance

It is imperative that you have good attendance to be successful in this class. The pace of the course is faster and the difficulty level of math is higher. You are responsible for all work missed while absent, regardless of the excuse. You will be given the opportunity to stay after class to make up missed work.

Class Work 20% 65 – 73 D

**The school’s approved grading scale will be used** 0 – 64 F

Homework

Homework will be collected and checked on completion. Students must show work to receive full credit. Each unit will also contain a review Problem Set which will be graded on completion and correctness. Hard work on the homework will be reflected in the student’s test performance.

Extra Help

Students are expected to seek extra help when needed. Please refer to the following:

• Khan Academy () Login through the google tab using your cvcolonials account.

• 2:30-3:00 pm with Mr. Warner, by appointment

Expectations

Academic: Algebra 1B is a key course in preparing students for the Keystone Exam. It will require that all students put forth more effort. There will be homework every night and students will be expected to study on a regular basis.

Classroom: All students will be respectful to their classmates and the teacher. There are no exceptions or special accommodations for this expectation. All students will put forth their best effort on a daily basis.
