Join this general information call regarding our partnerships and the steps to begin this process. Registration is required.VISION REHABILITATION TRAINING Vision rehabilitation training is available by appointment only virtually or at both ABVI locations. Please call (843) 723-6915 or email at info@.Activities of Daily Living (ADL): Classes include personal self-care, medication management, laundry, home and kitchen safety, other topics as needed.Assistive Technology (AT): Instructor works with client to make sure they are using their smart phone, tablet, other low vision aids/devices to their fullest capability.Braille Class: No prior experience necessary, instructor mails materials to work on and/or uses a muffin pan to start.Basic Computer Tutoring/Typing: Must have some basic computer knowledge and specific tasks they wish to accomplish like checking email or ordering groceries online.Orientation and Mobility (O&M): O&M is one to one training geared around independent traveling. It is now available to all ABVI clients on a first come, first serve basis. This training is available in-office only.Occupational Therapy (OT): OT offers new strategies and alternative methods of completing activities of daily living. OT services are available at our Ladson facility or virtually. To start the process for OT services, ABVI must receive a referral from your doctor. This service is dependent on eligibility of insurance. We have Low Vision Aids and Devices available at our Charleston and Ladson offices.
