3. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION
Summary Statement:

Under general supervision, the Employment Program Representative/Disabled Veterans' Outreach Program (DVOP) specialist will perform the duties, roles and responsibilities as described and mandated in U.S.C. Title 38, chapters 41 and 42.
By utilizing a collaborative team approach with Wagner Peyser, partner and others Jobs for Veterans State Grant (JVSG) staff, the DVOP must provide intensive services only to veterans and other eligible clients that are eligible to receive DVOP services as described in the current Veterans Program Letter (VPL) Training and Employment Guidance Letter (TEGL). These clients may receive staff assisted services in conjunction with intensive services to provide veteran's and other eligible clients the means to accomplish their employment goals. A. Objective Assessment of client's education, skills and abilities. B. Development of an individual employment plan (IEP) to include the services appropriate to meet the Veteran's employment goals. C. Individuals counseling to identify employment barriers and employment goals. D. Career guidance/planning E. Short-term individual career coaching
In conjunction with individualized and staff assisted services, assists clients to understand how to navigate through self-service systems available at the America's Job Centers of California (AJCCs) and CalJOBSSM. Such services shall include, but are not limited to: virtual recruiter, labor market information, eligible training providers, job search activities and resume builder.

Maintain regular contact and provide and record intensive services in accordance with approved DVOP benchmarks to VIP case managed and eligible clients until employment goal is met or the veteran is exempt from employment based on an allowable exclusionary category.

Case conferences with Local Veterans' Employment Representatives (LVERs) for all job ready clients. Uses team approach by collaborating and coordinating with AJCC staff, partners and community based organizations to maximize employment opportunities for veterans and eligible clients.

Utilizes various data sources and an integrated service approach to conduct and track outreach to veterans and eligible clients to ensure that eligible clients receive information on the services available within the AJCC system. Follows all state and federal guidance as it pertains to outreach efforts.
Provides, for each assigned Chapter 31 clients, monthly, quarterly, and Chapter 31

veteran program activity reports to the designated Employment Development
Department (EDD) management and Intensive Service Coordinator. Follows guidance set forth by the Chapter 31 MOU, State and Federal guidance for all Chapter 31
clients.
