So Much To Be Thankful For - Black Preacher Sermon

So Much To Be Thankful For

(Psalms 100:1-5 KJV)

1Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.2 Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.3 Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.5 For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

f the truth is ever told, every saint of God knows that He has been magnificent to each of us. And with due respect, we ought to be grateful to be alive, and grip this very moment right now, long enough to tell Him thank you. Matter of fact, He's been better to us than we've been to ourselves. Despite our down falls, mishaps, and spiritual malfunctions—He continues to miraculously mesmerize us with His majestic and immeasurable blessings.

The word thankful carries the indication of awareness — it turns down the volume of annihilation, and amps up the volume of appreciation. To be thankful also support the weight of expressive gratitude, and communicates accelerated phenomenon's that have transpired in our lives. So, whenever the opportunity arrives, we ought to strategically give reverence to God, for traveling with us every mile of the way. I don't have to see Him as a pillow of fire by night; neither do I need to see Him as a pillow of cloud by day. Why? That's simple—overwhelmingly I can feel him on the inside. So, I dare somebody to tell Him thank you!

I. Our Thankfulness Should Be Verifiable:

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. (Psalm 100:1)

Our thankfulness unto the Lord should be verifiable, and we shouldn't sit silent and give Him library praises or rather a camouflaged praise, but we should give Him a captioned praise. Moreover, we shouldn't be cankerous with our worship, but courageous enough to worship Him in spirit and truth. The Psalmist declares that the whole nation should make a joyful noise unto the Lord!

We should make a joyful noise because God is our creator, and we are His creature. Let me verify this theologically, so let's invite the Apostle Paul into this dialogue—he will confirm the identity of a true confessed, converted, consecrated and commissioned creature:

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (1 Corinthians 5:17)

When we were transformed and came under submission of His deity, we verified Him as being our Potter and were the clay, and He shaped us to be acceptable in His sight to worship Him. We then became sheep of God’s pasture and we dwell in God’s pavilion. So, as we worship and give thanks to God, we are acknowledging God's claim on our transformed lives. Worship reminds us that we must trust our hopes for the future to the care of another who is the Creator of all things.
