Disease Risk Assessment
For this activity, you will do a disease risk assessment for the most common lifestyle diseases that wreak havoc on the adult population. This will give you an idea of what you can look forward to given your age, gender, genetics, and lifestyle. For this activity; do each of the following:
1. Go to yourdiseaserisk.wustl.edu. At this website, complete each of the disease risk assessments for cancer (each type of cancer appropriate for your gender), diabetes, heart disease, osteoporosis, and stroke. When your get your risk score for each of the assessments, record it.
2. For each of the disease areas (cancer, diabetes, heart disease, osteoporosis, stroke), write a summary statement of your risk for that disease. For each disease area, list the risk factors that you could change in order to lower your risk and briefly explain how you could alter your lifestyle in order to change these risk factors and lower your risk.
