Direct Instruction- 20 to 25 minutes
Lecture over Kubler-Ross’ theory on the 5 stages of death and what they mean to the individual and the family. We will talk about other aspects of death including euthanasia and its ethics. We will also talk about care for the dying in hospices and living wills. Lastly we will be talking about funerals and how they serve as celebrations in our own and a different culture, the Day of the Dead in Spanish cultures.
Class Activity and Assessment- 10 to 15 minutes
Journal entry- choose one and a minimum of one page
1. Write your own eulogy to be read at your funeral or your own obituary.
2. Finish writing about the loss of a loved one or a pet in your lifetime.
