CAREER EXPERIENCEActive in mortgage lending, land entitlement, real estate construction and rehabilitation, loan delivery, loan servicing, direct underwriting, and residential and commercial development since 1969.Started lending career with City Finance, Long Beach, CA, and obtained real estate salesman’s license (issued by CA Department of Real Estate) in early 1970’s. Also held fire and casualty agent’s license and credit life and disability license (CA Department of Insurance). Formed Precision Mortgage in 1979. Obtained real estate broker’s license then, and served as president and supervising broker for this thriving hard money loan company. Also held personal property broker’s license and consumer finance lenders license (issued by CA Department of Corporations). Opened Bancorp Mortgage as adjunct business in the early 1980’s for which I served as president and supervising broker. We became approved by HUD, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, VA, and FHA as direct endorsed underwriters and mortgage brokers. Funded thousands of loans each year in conventional paper only, plus concurrent hard money loans. To provide better service to mortgage companies and clients, opened Orange Tree Escrow, licensed and supervised by CA Department of Corporations. I was president, and also became certified review appraiser by Institute of Review Appraisers. With assistance from 90 combined employees in six offices, funded numerous loans for residential and commercial construction, remodels, and development, sometimes participating in projects by investing company funds. Bancorp had multiple millions of dollars in revolving credit lines from various institutions for mortgage banking; under one contract with Imperial Savings and Loan of San Diego, funded and serviced a portfolio of $17,000,000 at peak of project. Sold interests in these Orange County companies in 1989, moved to Northern California, and established private party funded hard money operation. Became a partner in branch office of Central Pacific Mortgage and funded conventional and hard money transactions. Founded Granite Bay Loans and Investments, and later Granite Bay Mortgage, in 1996, serving as president.REPRESENTATIVE DEVELOPMENT PROJECTSGranite Bay Shopping Center, Auburn Folsom Rd. and Douglas Blvd., Sacramento, CA. Acquisition, rehabilitation, and sale of 82,000 sq. ft. of commercial space with numerous retail businesses. Bear River Self Storage, Lake of the Pines, Auburn, CA.Funding, management, and sale of 32,000 sq. ft. self-storage facility, along with construction and sale of 17,000 sq. ft. office warehouse condominium complex to individual owner/users. Greenstone Country, Shingle Springs, CA.Purchased remaining 32 residential lots in gated equestrian complex, built and sold five residences on most challenged lots, and sold remainders as custom lots.Summergate, Tracy, CA.Participated in construction of approximately 100 town homes in the complex. Villas at Calypso Bay, Lake Tullock, CA.Acquired over 100 residential home sites with water access, built six models, developed infrastructure, established homeowners association, and sold project to Sacramento developers.Sierra Center, Susanville, CA.Purchased, entitled, and built 17,000 sq. ft. nine-unit retail strip shopping center adjacent to Walmart.Orchard Gardens Apartments, Yreka, CA.Purchased, refurbished, and operate an 11-unit multifamily complex with community garden in downtown historical district. AVIATION EXPERIENCEThird generation licensed private pilot; raised in U.S. Air Force family with father retired as Base Operations Officer for Strategic Air Command home field at Offutt Air Force Base, Omaha, NE; flying lessons at age 14; have accumulated 2,000 hours in single engine aircraft; owned five aircraft and two hangars; mentored two children for pilot’s licenses, and will sponsor all willing grandchildren; donated numerous flights for Save the Children charity, primarily to Mexico. ................
