Biome Speeches - EE In Wisconsin

Biome Speeches

In about 100 words, write a speech designed to inform, educate, and entertain the other students about your biome. Even if you have a partner, each must write his/her own separate and different speech. Your speech must do the following:

1. Select three words that would best describe your biome. Put them into the opening statement of your speech. (For example, Windy, cold, and dry are three words that describe my biome's climate and precipitation.)

2. Include a description of the temperature and precipitation of your biome that helps the students compare that biome to something they know.

3. Describe how your biome’s six requirements for life and how the organisms have adapted to having an excess or scarcity of each. (Light, Air, Space, Proper Temperature, Nutrients and Water.)

4. Include a discussion of seasons in your biome.

5. Finally, write your speech without mentioning your biome’s name. End yours with a question such as: “What is the name of my biome?” or “Can you name the biome I am describing.”

6. Bonus points will be given for being funny (but on topic), interesting, or extremely informative without being too long.

7. Directly after the speech, give a language free, neatly written copy of your speech to me. A separate grade will be give for the written copy.
