Objective: Students will learn social, economic, political, and historical aspects of the United States from the end of World War II to the present.

Materials:

Each student MUST have the following list of materials

1. Notebook and folder OR Binder with paper dedicated solely to U.S. History

2. Charged laptop.

3. Blue or Black Pen (blue or black only for daily work)

Textbook:

Students will be using the History Alive! Pursuing American Ideals online textbook. Students have each been assigned an online log in. Each student wishing to use a hard copy textbook may be assigned one the year. There are also textbooks available for use in the classroom. There will also be a variety of reading assignments posted on my webpage and Google classroom.

Grading Procedures:

➢ Tests: usually multiple choice with short answers and/or essays

➢ Quizzes: usually once a week, unannounced and announced, short

➢ Class Assignments/Activities: participation in discussions, experiential activities, reading questions, reflections, Collins assignments, presentations

➢ Homework: short writing or a reflection assignment, reading assignment with or without guided reading questions or notes, preparation and research of long term projects, review

Behavioral Expectations:
