Sealed bids will be received by the County of Pettis at the County Commission Chambers on the second floor in the Pettis County Courthouse until 9:00am on Monday, February 24th, 2020 for furnishing necessary materials, equipment, and labor required through March 1st 2021. Bids will be publicly opened in the Commission Chambers. Copies of bid packets, specifications and/or contract documents for bidding purposes may be obtained at the office of the Pettis County Road & Bridge Department, 2208 West Main St. Sedalia Mo, at the Pettis County Clerks Office, 415 S Ohio St Suite 214, Sedalia, MO. 65301, or by accessing the website: .
All bidders are required to submit their proposal on the printed forms contained in the contract documents as well as an electronic copy. Proposals shall be submitted in a sealed envelope marked on the outside “County Road & Bridge Dept. Bids” with the name of the bidder as well. Sealed bids must be mailed or hand delivered to the Pettis County Clerks Office, 415 S Ohio St Suite 214, Sedalia MO 65301. Faxes, emails and/or bids delivered to the Pettis County Road & Bridge Department will not be accepted.
The county reserves the right to accept or reject any and/or all bids and to waive any irregularities in the bids. No bidder may withdraw their bid for a period of twenty-one (21) days after the date of the bid opening.
All bidders must understand the Pettis County Commission, (unless expressly stated in the contract language), makes no guarantee of an exclusive contract and further reserves the right to purchase goods and/or services outside of the contracted bids, (provided those purchases are in compliance with all state and federal law).
In the event the approved bidder cannot provide prompt delivery of goods and/or services, or in the event of sale pricing of goods or services that result in savings to the county, the Commission reserves the right to make purchases from vendors not currently under contract, again provided those purchases are in compliance with all state and federal laws.

ALUMINUM BOX CULVERTS

Item:
The aluminum box culvert bids prices will be attached to this form. Bids will include pricing for structural numbers one (1) thru one hundred forty three (143), 30’ long, furnished with a full invert, upstream toe walls, and manufactured headwalls. All material will be bid as delivered to the Pettis County Road & Bridge Department.
Specifications:
The aluminum box culvert bid shall consist of plates, ribs, and appurtenant items as required and shall conform to the requirements of ASTM A 307 or ASTM A 449 and shall be galvanized in accordance with ASTM A 153.
Conditions:
All material will be bid as delivered to the Pettis County Road & Bridge Department. The successful bidder will be required to furnish consultant recommendations to assemble selected box culvert. Pettis County Road & Bridge Department will assemble and install the aluminum box culvert.

Conditions:
HOT MIX – Testing is required for Pettis County Road & Bridge Department once every 1,000 tons of Hot Mix Asphalt produced by a certified MoDOT level 1 or 2 technician. Testing will be performed in accordance with MoDOT 401.3.7 at the Bidder’s expense. Pettis County Road & Bridge Department must approve the supplier and product grade of asphaltic cement. Copies of asphaltic cement delivery tickets must be supplied to Pettis County Road & Bridge Department upon request. Recorded Daily Heat Chart will be released to Pettis County Road & Bridge Department upon demand. This is to ensure batch temperatures of 300+ degree Fahrenheit. Aggregate for Hot Mix Asphalt must be produced out of an approved MoDOT source such as a Burlington or Chouteau ledge. Materials not meeting the above specifications will be rejected. Testing results shall be submitted to the Pettis County Road & Bridge Department by 7:00 AM the following business day. The bid for Cold Mix may be awarded to low rock and low oil bidders. Delivery of Bituminous Material will not surpass legal load limits set by MoDOT weights for secondary roads.
