East Jersey Trout Unlimited“Cast & Blast” EventMay 4 – 5, 2019East Jersey TU is once again offering a unique two-day membership event that combines a day of fishing the fabled Catskill rivers, the Willowemoc and the Beaverkill, with the opportunity to shoot Sporting Clays at a premier shooting venue, Catskill Pheasantry. We will fish on Saturday and, for those who choose to do so, shoot on Sunday.If you’ve ever wanted to experience Sporting Clay shooting but lacked the opportunity, this trip is for you. Beginning shooters are welcome and will be taken under the wing of experienced shooters in safety and fun. If you do not plan on shooting, join your fellow EJTU members fishing these outstanding Catskill waters.Some facts about the event:The event would take place on May 4 – 5, 2019, over a weekend.The location is the Catskill region.Saturday: Fishing on the Beaverkill or Willowemoc.Saturday night: Lodging at the Catskill Pheasantry Shooting Facility. (For those people who choose to fish on Sunday rather than shoot, lodging is available in the area.)Sunday: Breakfast & Sporting clay shooting at Catskill Pheasantry, Long Eddy, NY.Cost:Lodging $65 per night, per person to stay at the lodge, includes breakfast.Sporting clay costs: $45 for 100 clays.Rental shotguns are available for $30.00. Beginners are welcome. Ammo is available for purchase @ $12.00 per box. Better to buy your own ammo @ $7.00 per box at Dick’s Sporting Goods. We shoot 100 shells so you will need 4 boxes. However, there will be no trip leader to guide you to fishing locations. We recommend that you team up with other EJTU members that are familiar with the rivers. There are good hotels in the area of Roscoe, The Creekside Cabins (607) 498-5873, and The Reynolds House & Inn (607) 498-4422 are recommended. ................
