Vendors/Cell Phones. More specifically, staff contacted each cell phone distributor which are typically protected from inclement weather with a temporary canopy and has requested that they relocate to bona fide establishments considering that open air vendors require a Use Permit. Staff also informed mobile food vendors of the need to obtain proper permits, including the need to move every 30 minutes. Shopping Carts. Staff has increased its efforts in identifying the location of abandoned shopping carts and has improved its communication with the City’s shopping cart retrieval contractor. These efforts have also included City staff contacting local businesses and informing them of where they may collect such carts. Illegal Signs. City staff has also removed a plethora of illegal signs and has been contacting the various businesses to notify them that such signs are prohibited by the City’s Municipal Code. ................
